About Us
AACEPT was set up in 1995 by Beryl Telman, a teacher from Croydon who went on holiday to the beautiful coastal country of The Gambia in West Africa. Beryl saw a huge gap between the educational facilities in The Gambia compared to the UK and wanted to support schools to bridge that gap.
The AACEPT Trustees are passionate about supporting education provision in The Gambia; enabling young people to have the lives they deserve.
Our projects over the years have varied from the provision of uniforms, books, stationery and laptops to building teachers' accommodation and renovating of class rooms.
